Course Description
The Preparatory Course for Singapore Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination is designed to prepare students for the O Level examinations by providing comprehensive instruction in English and five additional subjects selected from Chinese, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Principles of Accounts. The programme focuses on helping students strengthen subject understanding, improve academic discipline, and become more familiar with examination demands across a structured 10 month learning journey.
The course is built around more than just syllabus coverage. It also emphasises exam strategies, critical thinking, and repeated guided practice so that students can approach the O Level examinations with stronger confidence and clearer technique. Across the programme, students are supported in improving their writing, reading, listening, speaking, problem solving, analysis, and subject specific answering methods depending on the subjects they take.
Strong emphasis is placed on progressive development. The curriculum is organised into 4 semesters of 2.5 months each, allowing students to move from foundation building to more advanced practice and examination preparation. This helps learners strengthen weaker areas, improve consistency, and gain greater familiarity with the structure and expectations of the O Level examination format.
For students, this course provides a more structured and supportive route towards examination preparation. For parents, it offers the reassurance of a guided programme that combines subject teaching, regular assessment, and exam focused practice to help learners prepare more seriously for an important academic milestone.
